Over the summer, I read Proof of Heaven by Eben Alexander. What I liked most was how the book talked about heaven from a perspective that was easier to understand than something like the bible. The book is nonfiction and talks about Dr. Alexander's journey of heaven. Dr Alexander is a neurosurgeon who went into a coma and got to experience some of the good and bad things of heaven. Dr. Alexander wrote everything as it happened. He described exactly what heaven was like for him. This was the part that made the book easier to understand since Dr. Alexander wrote things from his perspective.
As I was reading, this book taught me many life lessons and taught me to appreciate things in a different way. The author mentions a lot throughout the book, that God created you and you are loved by him no matter who you are. This taught me a lot and really got me into the book. This book is similar to the book/movie Heaven is for Real because both books are about someone's journey through heaven in a short amount of time. The author is trying to inform the readers about his near death experience (NDE) and he wants us people to be informed about this kind of situation. I really like this book and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in heaven or God and those kinds of things.
